Explain the impact of digitally convergent media platforms on video game production, distribution and consumption. Refer to Minecraft to support your answer 
Digitally convergent media is the video game consoles that are an exam digitally convergent media has many platforms for example; Xbox, Nintendo and PlayStation which may give a positive impact on video games because it is not regulating issues and semantics of violence but constructing land and buildings through their imagination. The game is a virtual world made up of Lego that involves over time, collecting raw materials, bricks and making new friends. 
Production of Minecraft refers to the four stages format, distribution, critical reception and a sandbox game as a genre. Production helps the development and the making of the media product which is addressed all throughout the video game. Minecraft is a sandbox game which means the game has a free structure and is constraint as the players are free to make their own choices about the way they use the content. It was created and developed by Swedish based Mojang studios – institution in the gaming industry. 
Sandbox games are normally described and modified as having an open world setting as you can construct anything. It was later created by a hybrid game with different versions to the story as its normally categorised as survival for a sandbox game in this genre. 

 The objective of this game was to build explore and mine as referred to in the name of the game itself “Minecraft”. Gamers and user's login in to build together a world of their imagination which is textured by different 3D cubes with the use of different supplies and materials. There are many different modes that people play on for example: creative, survival, adventure, spectator and multiplayer modes where you can go on an adventure with your friends and other gamers online. 

Furthermore, distribution refers to all processes linked to delivering the media product to audiences both tangible - through disc and Cloud based – digital media. By distributing versions of the game can be purchased online and over the internet through outlets such as the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade or even on recent platforms such as Nintendo. 
 This game is regulated through the newest technologies such as convergent devices such as Bluetooth and accessible to the internet. This opens up many risks and opportunities to the internet that may seem complicated for the regulation.  

Minecraft has a large target audience through distribution, market enhancement and circulation. This game is worldwide appealing and advertised through the word of mouth. Minecraft spread through word of mouth vastly. This is because there were a craze and a buzz people got from the game, now Minecraft has ways of distribution as the market of the game is similar to many mainstream releases.

The target audience is preferably young males between the ages of 16-28. Males between the ages of 16-28 are targeted because the magazine has stereotypical features inside in which a male would like such as accessories like watches, sunglasses, and clothing that makes you stand out by dressing out formal like Eddie on the front cover. It is aimed at fashionable men who are wanting to look professional and are able to further their success but also men who want to discover new fashion trends, to be up to date with fashion by making a bold and powerful appearance just like many celebrities on magazine covers.
