GQ MAGAZINE
|
-
Main image – head and shoulders shot, reveals enough detail to see his facial expressions. This magazine also uses direct eye contact, this allows the target audience to be attracted by his sly look.
- "GQ" - the masthead is in a bold and large sans serif font, the "q" overlaps the "g". The colours used are orange and white. The colour orange connotes mystery in juxtaposition to the colour white giving connotations of purity, innocence. However, orange could connote success which links in with the clothing James is wearing -the denotation of a formal suit connoting change and being professional.
- "Look smart, live smart" is the slogan of this magazine, this is shown by the way James is dressed in the image used. It connotes that fashion is everyday life. The purpose of this is to attract and for promotion purposes so that the audience can purchase it.
- The barcode in the bottom right shows the price of the magazine which is "3.99" which suggests it the audience that because it is pricy the magazine should be good to read and interesting.
Above the barcode is a turn which is also shown at the bottom left of the page with a competition to enter. This suggests that the reader would buy this intending to enter the competition with interest of winning something especially the 10,000-dollar wardrobe that is up for grabs.
